Nicole McMullin
Oct 12, 2006
On Nov. 7, 2006, Prince William County residents will be asked to vote on three bond referendum questions that will enable the County to use bond financing for the improvement of roads, libraries and parks.
QUESTION #1 ROAD IMPROVEMENT BONDS
Shall Prince William County, Virginia, contract a debt and issue its general obligation capital improvement bonds in the maximum aggregate principal amount of $300,000,000 for the purpose of paying the costs of acquisition, designing, constructing, and improving Route 1, Route 28, Minnieville Road, Heathcote Boulevard, Prince William Parkway, University Boulevard, Rollins Ford Road, Old Carolina Road and Countywide road Safety Improvements?
What do you think? How do you plan to vote on question one?

Ragan to the 6; a Sirius dilemma

OK, so I was off a bit. I figured Mark Martin’s departure from Roush and arrival at MB2 was the final big piece of the driver-switch puzzle.
In saying that, we listened to what the folks at Roush had to say about the future of the No. 6: Todd Kluever had all along been Martin’s replacement and there were no plans to change that. Until Wednesday, I suppose.
First West Nile case in humans found in Prince William County

NEW 11:45 a.m.
A Woodbridge resident has been identified as the first probable human case of West Nile virus in Prince William County this year, the Prince William Health District announced Tuesday.
The person, who is not being named due to privacy concerns, is over 65 and lives in the vicinity of the Belmont Bay community.
Mosquito testing over the summer indicated a high amount of West Nile virus-carrying mosquitoes in that area, said John Meehan, Prince William Health District environmental health manager.
The resident contracted the illness in late August or early September, was hospitalized and has since been discharged. Laboratory samples were collected Oct. 2 and tested positive. Confirmation testing is being done by the state’s lab and results could take several weeks, Meehan said.
This is the third probable human case in Virginia. Fairfax and Loudoun counties have each recorded one.

The case against Brian Vickers
Brian Hunsicker
Oct 09, 2006
We saw the big one, all right. It’s just that the big one involved only three cars.
The usual volume of regret and anger was spread around after Brian Vickers’ last-lap tap of Jimmie Johnson, which took out Johnson and, as you might have heard, Dale Earnhardt Jr.

OK, so Mark Martin won’t exactly be easing into retirement.
Friday morning, he announced that he’ll leave Roush Racing (no surprise there) and the Ford camp altogether (that is a surprise) to run 20 races with MB2 Motorsports.

Earnhardt, from the sound bites that I watched and read, downplayed the wreck. Johnson was more adamant, and had every right to be.
He and 2007 rookie Regan Smith will share the No. 01 Army Chevrolet, currently driven by Joe Nemechek. Nemechek isn’t going anywhere, and will pilot a third MB2 entry. (Sterling Marlin, in the No. 14, is also an MB2 driver.)
