Report: Sadler moving to No. 19
Brian Hunsicker
Jul 18, 2006
Even before Dale Jarrett announced he was leaving Robert Yates Racing, there was speculation on the future of Yates’ other driver, Elliott Sadler.
The Emporia native now appears on his way out the door, too: NASCAR.com is reporting that Sadler will drive the No. 19 in Ray Evernham’s stable next year. (The ride hasn’t officially opened up, but Evernham and driver Jeremy Mayfield have recently had a falling out. Mayfield expressed his frustration at his season — he’s currently 33rd in the standings — and claimed that he never saw Evernham around the shop much. Evernham released a statement to counter Mayfield’s claims, and relations have been strained ever since.)
